Method

To achieve the FACT objectives, the project methodology will entail three types of actions:

  1. Strengthening of inter-agency cooperation – the project will seek to engage the public entities involved in the child protection system in an active process that is expected to lead to a strengthening of the inter-agency cooperation at national level and possibly conclude with the signature of formal agreements regarding the treatment of the children targeted by the project.

  2. Capacity building (CB) – all the CB activities will target professionals working for or with children in alternative care (i.e., social workers, health workers, justice practitioners, psychologists, police officers) with a view to strengthening the professionals’ capacity to respond to the challenges posed by children with psychiatric or personality disorders while in alternative care communities;

  3. Communication and dissemination – Communication on project activities and results will be emphasized throughout project duration. The dissemination activities will be implemented with a view to ensuing the maximum impact to the project results and for this reason the formal involvement of one public entity from the partner countries, in addition to the partnership of the Italian ministry, will be key. Similarly, the involvement of the public bodies will also ensure that the project results be sustainable and thus put in practice beyond the project end.
